Introduction

Spatial data, specifically deals with the data related to space.As the data related to location is generated along with associated attribute data in huge amount due to localization sensors (GPS) and also due to widely usage of maps and digitized spatial data ,necessary computing infrastructure related to storage,modeling ,simulation , analysis and computing is required to handle and sustainably use the data to meet the urban challenges . Geo-spatial data generated from the smartphones and other sources is becoming a huge source for proper planning of urban activities like event management, traffic management,shopping pattern analysis,urban sprawl analysis e.t.c to name a few. The main challenges include efficient storage system ,computing algorithms and proper modeling and simulation approaches for accurate analysis of spatial data.
 

Objective

This book will provide the recent advancements in the area of spatial computing.This book will specifically deal with the recent frameworks, technologies,approaches, algorithms and computing mechanisms for handling locational or geospatial data.The book will help the researchers and practitioners to gain insight about the challenges ,issues and possible solutions in handling urban geospatial data.
 

Target Audience

The book will provide the recent advancements in the area of Spatial computing. This book will specifically deal with the recent frameworks , technologies ,approaches, algorithms and computing mechanisms for locational or geospatial data.The book will help researchers and practitioners to gain insight about the challenges , issues and possible solutions in handling urban geospatial data.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before December 10, 2018, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by December 20 , 2018 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by March 15, 2019, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Urban Spatial Data Handling and Computing. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.

All proposals must be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery®TM online submission manager.
